Alphonse J. Pranaitis is a partner in the firm. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney with over 40 years of courtroom and alternative dispute resolution experience. Mr. Pranaitis maintains an active litigation practice in state and federal courts in Illinois and Missouri. He has extensive jury trial experience, having tried a wide variety of civil cases to verdict, including medical malpractice, products liability, construction accidents, truck, other motor vehicle and farm equipment accidents, premises liability, employment discrimination, and transactional disputes.

After law school graduation Mr. Pranaitis worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Charles E. Jones, Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court, Fifth District. He then practiced law with Hoagland, Fitzgerald & Pranaitis and its predecessor firms from 1976 through 2016, before joining Rynearson, Suess, Schnurbusch & Champion, LLC.

Mr. Pranaitis was honored by being inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1999. He has been named to the Illinois “Super Lawyer” List and the “Leading Lawyer” List every year from 2005 through the present.

Mr. Pranaitis has authored a Monograph on voir dire in civil jury trials and a number of articles on civil litigation, which have been published in the Quarterly of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. He was an Editor of the Quarterly from 2005 to 2008 and Editor in Chief from 2008 to 2009. He has been a speaker on various aspects of civil litigation and employment discrimination matters at numerous seminars and conferences.

Mr. Pranaitis has served on the Illinois Supreme Court Rules Committee from 2010 through the present. He has been honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award, President’s Commendation Award, and Meritorious Service Awards of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and served on its Board of Directors from 2009 to 2015.
