Stephen C. Mudge has been practicing trial law for 46 years. Mr. Mudge was born and raised in Madison County and comes from a long line of attorneys who have practiced law for more than 100 years.

From 1977-1980, Mr. Mudge was the Assistant Madison County States Attorney, where he tried in excess of 25 felony jury trials to verdict. He attained the position of Chief Trial Attorney, Felony Division. From 1980 to 2019 Mr. Mudge was with the law firm of Reed, Armstrong, Gorman, Mudge & Morrissey, P.C., where he became a partner in 1985. Mr. Mudge has extensive trial practice and has tried a wide variety of jury and non-jury cases. He has tried all types of personal injury cases including wrongful death, brain injury, and other catastrophic injuries, resulting in no liability or low damage verdict. In a recent case the amount in controversy exceeded $45 million dollars. He has tried over 100 jury cases.

In addition to the practice areas listed below, he also serves as a mediator and arbitrator on a regular basis. Mr. Mudge resides in Edwardsville, Illinois, and is the father of two children, John and Taylor.
